Hi outdoor people and all others: I am the wooleybuggergal.( commonley known as Ida) I will tell you a little about myself. I am 61.. I came from the East Coast 34 years ago. I have two grown children that I am very proud of. My oldest made me a grandmother of a granddaughter, and my youngest is married  and I have a grandson now. She is a school teacher in Washington State, my son works for a company in Portland OR. I was married but now divorced. I am a  Christian and God has helped me in many ways sense I have found him again. I am very good friends with my X husband Jack and his wife Jean. I work as a manager in the State of Washington. I love the outdoors and try to get out in it as much as possible. I really didn't know how beautiful it was till I met the wooleybuggerman (Keith). We have travel on many adventures. I met him through a dating service on April fools day and it turned out to be a good April fools day for us. He is a Christian also.I was doing  a lot of walking at that time and the wooleyman didn't think I would be able to keep up with him till he took me on a hike. Well I showed him on our first date that I did. know how to keep up. He took me on a hike to a beautiful falls up in the State of Washington. Then we just kepted going out and talking on the phone, and now we are a married couple. He even had the patience to teach me how to fly fish, and boy it did take a lot of work to get me where I am today. Well that is about all I need to say about myself for now. I will have different things about hiking, camping, fishing and recipes that will be on different pages. I will try to do different adventures through out my pages along with some photos of places we have gone. You can also see some of the photos and read about some of the lakes we have been to. We could write a book on all the different adventures we have done.. We now live up in the Seattle WA.area where both of us work. We miss Oregon, but we are down there every Tuesday & Wednesday on our days off. I love to play on the web and have come across some Christian  sites that some people may like to visit. They will be at the bottom of this page..

One of my favorite lakes is Olallie Lake. The picture above is of cabin 3 in the winter many years ago. It has not changed very much. I have been there many times beginning back in 1972, and it is one of the most relaxing places to be. It has a beautiful view of MT. Jefferson no matter where you are on the lake including when walking around the Olallie trail. I feel so much at home up there. There are a lot of trails to explore, and Keith and I have been doing them sense (1996). You can rent a cabin with reservations, or you can camp there. We have done both and have been going up here every year. We have almost spent this summer up here. We feel the 550 miles round trip is well worth it. We divide our time to different lakes in Oregon and Washington. We carry a Washington and Oregon fishing license sence we visit both states. When I get my fishing & hiking page finished you will be able to see some of the large fish that can be caught out of the lake. The link to the Olallie site is at the bottom of this page.
                 WELCOME TO THE WOOLEYBUGGERGAL HOMEPAGE
Well this is Trillium lake above on MT. Hood. It is where the wooleybuggerman brought me to make or break me on fly-fishing and float tubing. He could only teach me so much, and then I had to learn the hard way, felt like a duck out of water until I got use to every thing I had to wear. I didn't know which fly was used for what, even though wooleybuggerman kept repeatedly telling me. I couldn't tell you which fly was a dry or a wet fly. He let me go venture on my own when we were in various lakes to get some experience under my belt. One the hardest things for me to learn was the art of fly casting, which requires you to do use of your wrist very little, to get good results. I use to bait fish and always used my wrist when spin casting. When trying to fly cast he cringed every time he watched me cast. But to his disbelief I was catching fish. I caught almost as many as he did, and yes we do release them. I don't believe in keeping any. Even today I still couldn't tell the name of the different flies but I do know a wet from dry. When out fishing I look at the flies to see which one is a pretty color. That doesn't always work, but most of the time it does, for me anyway, which drives wooleybuggerman crazy. He will ask which fly I am using and I will say the pretty yellow, brown or green one. Well you probably know what he is thinking or saying to me (*&*^%$####). Well ladies if you don't float tube or fly fish you should at least give it a try. Float tubing is a blast, it is awesome and I mean awesome. Even if you don't fish it is relaxing and you can grab a book and your favorite beverage and join that special person on the water, you don't have too necessarily fish. I say you are missing out, the fishing part is fun.

This is two of the three cabin at Olallie Lake were we stay in. It is very rustic here with no Phones, Electric or running water in the cabins, and just the way we like it. PEACE and QUIET.

Was a great year at Olallie lake. Keith and I caught a lot of fish, met some more great people which you always do there. We have already made 2003 reservations at Olallie.  I will be downloading some of the fish we caught. Keith had a 11lb 27 1/2 " I had a 8lb 28" The below photo is just an example of some of the fish that can be caught at Olallie Lake.
Fall is the best time to fish for us as we don't mind the cold.Fishing is great all summer also and they stock the lake at least 6 or 7 times.

Well another year is here. We went down to Olallie Lake in the first part of June to see if we could get in. We got to 1/4 mile and hiked in the rest of the way as there was still snow. After the resort opened we camped on our days off down there till it was time for our vacation. We took our vacation in July for 9 days and had a very relaxing time.We did a lot of hiking and fishing, fishing was good. Keith hiked the trail to MT Jefferson. We are getting ready for our next vacation starting on the 12th of Oct. and returning on the 27th of Oct. We will be there 15 days and we can't wait to get there.  We are hoping for snow while we are there. I hope to get some photos to put on my site. Below is the link to get to Olallie Lake, just click on it.

Well we are back and home for the year. We had a good time. I caught three fish 11lb 28 1/2 inch. also caught other fish. We only kepted two. One we ate and one we brought home for our Pastor. No snow to speak about. We did a lot of hiking. Will try to get the fish photos on soon.

We took a ride and went up the first part of November to see Doneal up at the lake , as we knew would be still there closing up everything. It had snowed and was still snowing when we got there. It was a wounderful site looking out the kitchen window andlooking out over the lake. I would have loved to just stay there all winter but we had to get back to Washington to work. We had a great visit with Doneal and we keep in touch with him. We have already set up our date to go up for 2004 in June. Can't wait to get there.

2005
It was a good year again. We did a lot of relaxing, hiking and Keith did a lot of fishing. We rented a couple of cabins throught out the year to see which one we liked the best. We had a great crew on staff as always. It was a hard ending of the year as we had a job offer in New York and had to say goodby to everyone. The job fell through and we are glad we will be back for the 2006 year.

2006
We are looking forward to another year of going to Olallie Lake. We have put in for our cabin for the end of June and the first part of July. We are really happy that Dallas is back from the missionfields safe. We are looking forward to seeing him. We feel that Doneal and all his family is part of our family and we Love each of them dearly. We have watches the children grow up and think the world of them.
